WU-LU SOUTH (FEAT. LEX AMOR)

We've rated Wu-Lu (aka producer and multi-instrumentalist Miles Romans-Hopcraft) for a while here at TMR. However, his latest single 'South' featuring Lex Amor seriously ups the anti. Coming from a place of sadness and frustration, discordant guitar parts, dirgy bass and intimidatingly excellent acoustic drum beats move together with a sinister swagger as Hopcraft's cutting lyrics rise through the ranks. Fed up with the gentrification of the area he grew up in, the opening line 'I used to live in South London, there's not much of it left' sums it up. He elaborates: “It’s a feeling that your area is losing all the things that make it what it is: the smell, the look, the taste and most importantly, the people." Arriving alongside an equally explosive and impactful video directed by Denisha Anderson, 'South' is definitely worth your time. -Holly Mullineaux
